Arizona wildfire smoke to move over Taos Thursday night

Posted

Skies across New Mexico are getting increasingly hazy today, largely to do a number of fires burning in Arizona.

The National Weather Service office in Albuquerque put out a notice via Twitter of potential hazy skies yesterday. Brian Guyer, a meteorologist with the office, told The Taos News Thursday afternoon (June 20), that smoke will mostly likely move into the Taos area tonight.

The NWS is not warning of changes to air quality at this time.

More smoke could move into the area tomorrow (June 21).

“Very dry and hot conditions will lead to heightened fire activity,” read the NWS Twitter post.
