Eagle Nest Friends seeks volunteers
The meeting of Friends of Eagle Nest Lake and Cimarron Canyon state parks is scheduled for Thursday (March 21) at 5:30 p.m. at Eagle Nest Lake State Park Visitor Center. Everyone interested in assisting with events hosted by the state parks, such as the fishing competitions, are encouraged to attend.
Area ski resorts all extend season
Taos Ski Valley and Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort have both extended their ski seasons due to late winter storms dumping more powder on the trails. Taos Ski Valley will remain open for the season until April 14. After March 24, Sipapu will be open Saturday and Sunday through April 7.
The last skiing and snowboarding day for Angel Fire Resort, which reported receiving 168 inches of snow for the season, is Sunday (March 24). Red River Ski and Summer Area also is closing March 24 for the season. Both are prepping for stellar summer seasons of hiking, biking and more due to the plentiful winter snow.
New Taos County Democratic Party selected
Taos County Democratic Party leaders were selected for 2019 by members recently. They are: Darien Fernandez, chair; Annette Arellano, secretary; AnJanette Brush, vice-chair; Nat Troy Jr., field director; George Brown, treasurer and campaign director.
