TSV reopens lifts closed Saturday due to high winds

UPDATE: Although wind gusts of 60-70 mph buffeted Taos Ski Valley's uppermost chairlifts Saturday afternoon (Feb. 16), forcing their temporarily closure, Sunday (Feb. 17) is a different story.

TSV's Marketing Manager Dash Hegeman says Sunday’s conditions "look excellent so we look forward to seeing you all out on the mountain (Sunday) morning. We appreciate your understanding and sticking with us throughout the day.

Saturday afternoon, Hegeman told The Taos News via email that Pioneer and Rueggli lifts were running and Snowsports was teaching beginner lessons, but "the rest of the lifts are on hold" due to dangerous high winds.

Hegeman said he and his team were busy updating the resort's Facebook page and Twitter all morning long as more information became available.
