The Taoseña Awards, Taos Expo and Women's Weekend events are being postponed due to coronavirus concerns and a directive from the state that prohibits gatherings of more than 100 people.
The events were originally scheduled for March 27-29.
Following Gov. Lujan’s state of emergency declaration for coronavirus, the Taos Women’s Weekend has been postponed until August 14-15, 2020. The Taoseña Awards will be on Friday, (Aug. 14) and the Taos County Chamber of Commerce Taos Woman’s Expo will take place on Saturday, (Aug. 15) at El Monte Sagrado.
The event was scheduled for March 27-28. Organizers say they took this proactive step to help prevent COVID-19 spread.
“We’re extremely disappointed to postpone this incredible event that brings the community together, however, the safety, health and well-being of attendees, honorees, exhibitors and other participants is our top priority, said Chris Baker, publisher of the Taos News in a news release. “We look forward to seeing everyone in mid-August for a weekend honoring eight local women, exhibitions, demos and more.”
The Taos Woman magazine will be published in the Taos News on March 26.
