The following is a condensed version of Taos Police reports from July 31 through Aug. 5.

July 31

5:23 a.m. Welfare check, Civic Plaza Drive – A caller said an irate woman was cussing at some town workers because they shined a flashlight in her face.

8:16 a.m. Trespassing, Kit Carson Electric – A caller said a man was sleeping in a tan SUV with its back window broken out. The caller said they have also been finding needles in the parking lot and want the man gone.

9:53 a.m. Criminal damage, Montoya Street – A caller said her boyfriend was throwing things around her residence. She wanted him removed until he calmed down.

10:56 a.m. Civil complaint, FastBucks – A caller said someone had gone through his dumpster, leaving trash everywhere.

12:18 p.m. Battery, DreamTree Project – A caller said a boy pushed a girl and she punched him in the face.

5:20 p.m. Traffic accident, private property, Walmart – A caller said a car backed into his car in the parking lot.

7:02 p.m. Information report, Gusdorf Place – A caller said that her neighbor’s child had egged her house. The caller said this happens when the child is left alone at home.

9:23 p.m. Harassment, Taos Sanitary Supply – A caller said a man wearing silver chains, grey basketball shorts and flip-flops was harassing the workers while they were putting their tools away. The caller said the man sat on one of their vehicles and asked them if they wanted to “meet their maker.”

9:50 p.m. Welfare check, Smith’s – A caller said a man wearing a red mask was walking around the store parking lot.

11:40 p.m. Battery, Holy Cross Medical Center – A caller said a patient told them he had been thrown out of a vehicle in front of the emergency department.

Aug. 1

1:38 a.m. Harassment, School Road – A caller said a woman who had run him over with a car was harassing him, saying she would run him over again if she sees him.

11:50 a.m. Public indecency, Nambe Outlet – A caller said a man was taking his clothes off in front of the store.

4:31 p.m. Traffic accident, private property, Kit Carson Electric – A caller said someone backed a vehicle into a post at the front of the business.

5:34 p.m. Civil complaint, Medina Lane – A caller said a landlord was trying to illegally evict a tenant, who is also a veteran, throwing his things out on the street. The caller was helping the tenant while he is in the hospital.

6:36 p.m. Information report, DreamTree Project – A caller said that a boy hit another boy with a pool cue.

7:25 p.m. Battery, Herdner Road – A caller said that her employee was possibly overdosing on drugs. Her employee became aggressive with medics at the scene, striking one of them in the groin.

7:38 p.m. Welfare check, Paseo del Pueblo Norte – A caller said that a man driving a black truck threw both his wife and his daughter out of the vehicle.

8:05 p.m. Citizen assist, Paseo del Pueblo Norte – A caller said she believed her phone was being tapped into by people involved in human trafficking.

10:53 p.m. Welfare check, Inn on La Loma Plaza – A caller said someone was walking down the street carrying a baseball bat and flashlight.

Aug. 2

12:02 a.m. Suspicious circumstance, Linda Vista Lane – A caller from Colorado said the cameras at his house in Taos were going off and there was someone walking around his front yard carrying a flashlight.

10:49 a.m. Burglary commercial, Hinds & Hinds – A caller said someone broke into a few units during the night and stole a TV from his unit.

11:15 a.m. Animal stray, Stray Hearts Animal Shelter – A caller said they had an “illegal drop-off” at the shelter.

11:26 a.m. Child abuse or neglect, DreamTree Project – A caller said a teenage boy was refusing to leave with his father because he said his father is abusive. The boy was being discharged for assaulting another resident.

12:11 p.m. Reckless driver, Camino de la Placita and Ranchitos Road – A caller was asking for patrols of the area because vehicles were running red lights at the intersection.

2:21 p.m. Animal bite, Morada Lane – A caller said a woman was bitten by a Chihuahua and went to Taos Urgent Care for treatment.

4:07 p.m. Shoplifting, Paseo del Pueblo Sur – A caller said a woman had been caught trying to steal alcohol.

8:56 p.m. Sick person, Taos Living Center – A caller said a 65-year-old man needed to go to Holy Cross Medical Center for a possible heroin overdose.

Aug. 3

9:34 a.m. Disorderly conduct, Taos Plaza – A caller said a man was throwing garbage around the plaza during the farmers market.

4:02 p.m. Assault, Community Against Violence Thrift Store – A caller said four people were fighting.

11:38 p.m. Disturbing the peace, Not Forgotten Outreach – A caller said a 21-year-old man was threatening to kill everyone at a residence in the area.

Aug. 4

2:47 a.m. Suspicious circumstance, Shell gas station, 5280 Paseo del Pueblo Sur – A caller said someone armed with a gun was trying to break into the gas station.

8:51 a.m. Disorderly conduct, The Coffee Spot – A caller said a man showed up at the café and starting yelling at other customers.

10:33 a.m. Fraud-forgery, King Drive – A caller said he had paid a $1,200 deposit for an apartment rental he found online, but the landlord never showed up with any sort of lease. The caller did not know how to get back in touch with this person or get his money back.

12:54 p.m. Larceny, Taos County Sheriff’s Office – A caller said she had left some cash in an ATM at Centinel Bank in El Prado.

1:24 p.m. Welfare check, Paseo del Pueblo Sur – A caller said he came across two children locked in a black GMC with Colorado license plates. He said one of the children looked to be around 6 years old and the other was an infant in a car seat. He said both appeared to be red from the heat.

3:25 p.m. Animal abuse, Herdner Road – A caller said there was a husky inside a white Jeep with its windows rolled up.

7 p.m. Unconscious, fainting, Smith’s – A caller said a man was unconscious near Hinds & Hinds in the Smith’s parking lot. A responding officer [said the man] had drunk a fifth of vodka before passing out. Medics later took the man to Holy Cross Medical Center.

Aug. 5

12:19 a.m. Disturbing the peace, Allsup’s, 1050 Paseo del Pueblo Sur – A caller said a customer driving a white vehicle came into the store highly intoxicated and was being verbally abusive with employees.

2:47 a.m. Welfare check, Bealls – A caller said a vagrant was sleeping with a machete in his hand.

6:18 a.m. Theft of motor vehicle, Lamento del Coyote – A caller said her gray 2012 Mazda CX-9 was stolen from her home.

6:27 p.m. Criminal damage, Lamento del Coyote – A caller said someone broke into her vehicle and got stuck inside. The suspect broke a window to get out and left a six-pack of beer inside.

6:43 p.m. Agency assistance, Paseo del Pueblo Sur – A caller said a New Mexico State Police officer had located a vehicle that had hit a Taos Police cruiser a couple of days ago.

11:20 p.m. Welfare check, O’Reilly Auto Parts – A caller said a man in the area was yelling at no one in particular.
