Sabor, a Taste of Taos, sponsored by the Taos County Chamber of Commerce, is designed to bring the community and visitors together for an event celebrating the flavors from kitchens in Northern New Mexico. The third annual event is planned Sunday (Oct. 8) from noon until 4 p.m. on Taos Plaza.
The Taos County Chamber of Commerce states that participating vendors will each prepare and serve small, ready-to-eat “tastes” that highlight their food craft. Each “taste” will be purchased by patrons with an event token, purchased at a ticket booth on-site.
“The event is planned as a fun, lively atmosphere and will include music, general seating, prizes, and children’s activities,” a press release reads. “This year we will include a Dish Judging for the Best of Sabor for [entrée], vegetarian dish and dessert.”
Taos Mesa Brewing will be operating a beer garden for adults with ID.
In addition to raising the profile of the participating restaurants in Northern New Mexico, the Taos County Chamber of Commerce will provide an afternoon of entertainment by the band Nosotros and an area with activities for children.
Participating restaurants include Gutiz, Old Martina’s Hall, The Bavarian, 192 at The Blake, Rhoda’s Restaurant, The Gorge Bar and Grill, The Alley Cantina, Great Noodles, El Monte Sagrado, Common Fire, Sol Food Market and Taos Mesa Brewing.
Taos County Chamber of Commerce has produced this event with the support of the following sponsors: Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Centinel Bank, U.S. Bank, The Taos News, town of Taos, Taos Ski Valley, Inc. and Taos Mountain Casino.
