Peñasco Track preview

Posted

This week the Panthers have their first official week of track and field practice. While the roster is still being finalized, it seems that this year's team will have approximately 20 girls and 15 boys, including racers at all distances and a couple throwers to keep an eye on.

Adrianna Tafoya, Carly Gonzales, Maricella MacAuley and Gilbert Valdez will run distance, Ariana MacAuley will run mid-distance and Jennifer Aguilar will lead the hurdlers.

For this season, and until the Peñasco track can be resurfaced, all the Peñasco High School and Middle School track meets will be away.

Peñasco hasn't won a district title in a few years, and head coach Brandon Gurule hopes to compete for one this year.
