Town of Taos workshop meeting this week has been canceled. 

Tuesday (Oct. 22)

Drivers in Taos could be seeing a change in the fines and penalties for driving infractions as the town council prepares to hear the proposed changes to the Uniform Traffic Ordinances. 

The town of Taos council will be discussing and possibility approving a new penalty assessment for traffic violation in Taos during the Tuesday (October 22) regular meeting at 4:00 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers,  120 Civic Plaza Drive.

During the meeting, the town will also officially select their project choice for a community development block grant project to send to the state of New Mexico for approval. The town has selected the Casetta Group’s Indian Hills restoration project as a potential for the state grant. 

Also during the meeting, the Council will discuss Taos’ MainStreet program and their Downtown Metropolitan Redevelopment Area Designation. This will designate an area for MainStreet to focus on as the areas in need of restoration of revitalization in the downtown area. 

The Taos Municipal Schools board will hold a regular public meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Taos Charter School.

The Village of Angel Fire council will be discussing the continuation of a contract with Affordable Auto of Angel Fire for preventative maintenance and repair during  a regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Village Hall. 

The council will also hold a public hearing for the zone change of a parcel of land in the village. 

Questa’s Village Council will discuss designs for the public library expansion during a regular meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the council Chambers and will also review the  financial report from the first  quarter of the fiscal year. 

 The Council will also hear presentations for a local veterans memorial dedication, the Economic Development Fund Board’s report as well as a possible presentation from Dollar General.
