An employee at the Taos Walgreens, located at the intersection of Cruz Alta Road and Paseo del Pueblo Sur, tested positive for the novel coronavirus last week, the New Mexico Department of Heath has confirmed.
The store was closed on Wednesday (June 3) and Thursday morning as all employees who work at the store were tested for the virus, but then normal hours resumed.
"DOH has been working with the Walgreens in Taos to test all of their employees after an employee recently tested posititve for COVID," said David Morgan, a spokesperson for the health department. "Walgreens voluntarily closed in order to clean and disinfect the facility at that location tested for COVID."
A representative from the Walgreens corporate office had not responded to questions as of noon Friday (June 5) regarding other precautions the store has taken.
This is a developing story.
