Business brief: Innovation grants available

The New Mexico Economic Development Department is offering a Small Business Innovation Research award matching grant of up to $50,000 to accelerate commercialization of technologies developed with the aid of the federal SBIR awards.

To be eligible for this competitive grant, New Mexico companies must have an active Phase I or Phase II SBIR award or a letter of award. Award funds must be used for business development and must not duplicate items or activities funded by the federal SBIR award.

The solicitation and application can be found at the New Mexico True business development site, gonm.biz.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Nov. 2.
